    • How do I get authorization to submit an event?
Please note that not all subscribers can manage and submit events. You need special permission in order to conduct these tasks. Contact Jewish Information Service (J.I.S.) if you think you should have permission to submit events. Make sure you have registered online as a subscriber before contacting J.I.S.

On the other hand, if you wish for this event to be visible only on your organizational calendar, you have to select the first option.
Co-Sponsors: As there are many co-sponsors to choose from, you can jump to a co-sponsor by typing the first letter of the co-sponsor's name. If you want to select multiple co-sponsors, hold the Control key (for Windows) / Command key (for Mac) and click on the items you want to choose.
RSVP: This field should be used to specify the name of the person who is responsible for RSVP's or who can be otherwise contacted for information about the event.
Volunteers Needed: You can only select a volunteer opportunity if it has already been posted by the sponsoring organization. You have to ensure that all opportunities are posted prior to an event being submitted. (See 'How do I post a volunteer opportunity?' for more information.)

    • Why do events submitted to the What's On Calendar need to be approved?
If you are submitting an event to the What's On Community Calendar, it comes to a staff person at J.I.S. who reviews it to ensure it meets the criteria of the Calendar. The criteria include that only one fundraising event per timeslot is noted on the Calendar and that, with a few exceptions, fundraising events scheduled during UJA Federation campaign times are not included in the Calendar. You will be emailed when your event has been approved for posting on the Calendar. If there is some difficulty in posting the event, a staff person from J.I.S. will contact you.
