Jewish Information Service of Greater Toronto (JIST) has been a vital service of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto since 1975.
We reach out to individuals and community organizations and serve as a point of access to Jewish community life in our area. We respond to over 10,000 inquiries each year by phone, fax or visitors to our information desk. And this website receives over 800,000 visits annually:

PJ Library in York Region The PJ Library is an international award-winning program designed to reach as many Jewish families as possible and engage them in Jewish life by providing them with high quality children’s books and CD’s for free.
PJ Library York Region, a program of UJA Federation, offers FREE books and music to nurture Jewish families. If you live in York Region and have children between the ages of 6 months and five and one-half years old then you can sign up to receive a free Jewish themed book or CD every month! Restitution Services JIST offers Restitution Services to assist Holocaust Survivors and their families apply for restitution funds and pensions from Germany. Please contact Dora Elzbet, 416-630-2920, delzbet@ujafed.org for more information and to schedule an appointment.
Housing Registry From its beginning, Jewish Information Service has maintained a Housing Registry, a listing of housing. It concentrates on shared accommodations, basement apartments and rooms in houses or apartments. To list your rental accommodation call our office or email us.
